Styles and Faal Safeguarding supports a wide range of organisations to improve professional standards in safeguarding practice. We offer a range of bespoke high quality training and consultancy services suitable for statutory and non-statutory organisations of all sizes. We work with clients across the UK and beyond.
Meet the team
Helen Styles and Becca Faal combined their comprehensive industry experience to form Styles and Faal Safeguarding in September 2021. Their purpose is to build a training and consultancy business which helps organisations embed effective safeguarding practices and build sustainable improvement for long-lasting change.
Helen Styles
Helen Styles is a safeguarding consultant with 25 years of experience. She has worked across a variety of statutory and non-statutory organisations in a range of both front-line practitioner and strategic roles. Including as a safeguarding lead in education and a safeguarding review author. With extensive experience in writing and delivering a range of training at all levels, Helen holds qualifications in teaching, safeguarding and management and is an accredited Mental Health First Aid England First Aider and Instructor. Helen works part-time as the Diocesan Safeguarding Training and Development Officer for The Diocese of Bristol.
Becca Faal
Becca has 20 years experience in safeguarding. She works part-time as the Diocesan and Cathedral Safeguarding Officer for the Diocese of Gloucester, and is a trained Children’s Nurse, School Nurse, Mental Health First Aider and instructor, and a Protective Behaviours specialist practitioner. Her work experience includes working in clinical settings and working as a school nurse in pupil referral units. She is a qualified academic with an MSc in the fields of Anthropology and International Safeguarding. Becca is also a contributing author to the Big Book of Whole School Wellbeing.
What we do
We specialise in a wide range of safeguarding training and consultancy services, supporting a broad range of organisations working with children, young people and adults.
We have supported a variety of statutory and non-statutory organisations including Church of England, University of West England and Royal Horticultural Society to up-skill their teams and improve safeguarding practices.

At Styles & Faal Safeguarding, we’re proud to offer comprehensive e-learning programmes developed in collaboration with Designed Learning Solutions. Our modular approach prioritises simplicity, clarity, and practical application for you and your team as you engage with children and vulnerable adults. Safeguarding Consultancy services
Our focus is building collaborative, long-term relationships with clients, and supporting them to improve professional standards. Building sustainable improvement for long-lasting change.
Our consultancy services build capacity and drive improvement at all levels of an organisation. These services include audit, preparation for inspection, statutory and non-statutory reviews, supervision, DSL support, policy review and tailor-made training.
Safeguarding
Training
Our training is bespoke to ensure participants receive a highly relevant and tailored experience, giving them the practical skills and knowledge they need to operate safely and effectively in their role.
After assessing your needs, our aim is to deliver a range of contextualised training to suit practitioners at all levels. This is personalised to you. The training we deliver relates to all aspects of safeguarding practice from basic awareness to specialist, advanced options.
The training can be delivered at a time and location to best support your organisation either in-person or via web-based platforms.
We also offer training on Mental Health and Wellbeing including:

Their ability to read people’s reactions to the learning tasks and ensure that it moved at the correct pace for everyone in the group was noticeable. Personally, they noticed that suicide is a sensitive topic for me right now and checked in with me at relevant points during the course – clearly demonstrating MHFA.
